Understanding the Servo Motor Encoder

The word "servo" comes from the Greek word "slave". "Servo motor" can be understood as a motor that is absolutely obeyed by the control signal: the rotor is stationary before the control signal is sent; when the control signal is issued, the rotor rotates immediately; when the control signal disappears, the rotor can stop immediately.

A servo mechanism is an automatic control system that enables an output controlled amount of an object to follow an arbitrary change of an input target (or a given value). The servo is mainly positioned by the pulse. Basically, it can be understood that when the servo motor receives one pulse, it will rotate the angle corresponding to one pulse to realize the displacement.

Because the servo motor itself has the function of emitting pulses, each time the servo motor rotates, it will send a corresponding number of pulses, thus forming an echo with the pulse received by the servo motor, or a closed loop, so that the system will know How many pulses are sent to the servo motor, and how many pulses are returned at the same time, so that the rotation of the motor can be controlled very accurately, so as to achieve accurate positioning, which can reach 0.001 mm.
